Small Business Web Development done properly.

Marrying Software Engineering and Digital Marketing

My ugly mug

Back in 2020 I had been a hobbyist programmer for years (I'm an old gamer nerd, I wanted to make video games) and, following a couple of work-injuries, the birth of my first kid, the pandemic etc, I was looking to transition out of construction and into the tech industry by learning web development.

But I realised early on that just being a programmer wasn't enough and decided to supplement my programming skills by learning marketing and sales as let's face it, the goal of every small business website is to make money.

Within a year I was applying to jobs at various marketing and software firms, however what stood out to me was that most of the marketers within the price range of small businesses didn't really understand (or care about) what websites actually were, and the performance of their websites is generally awful as a result.

It's understandable, not everyone can do everything by themselves. But it isn't a good product.

Crafting marketing-focused websites for UK small businesses

I did try and steer the course of a couple of companies towards a better end product, but when my advice fell on deaf ears it became clear that the only way to fill this gap in the market was to do it myself, and so I set about designing a process by which customers get the benefit of top-notch engineering, focused on the ultimate end result; getting business through the door and making money.

And this is what I do for my clients. I am meticulous in my approach to programming yes, but the end goal is not to churn out yet another online brochure but to engineer a laser focused marketing tool that will get your business in front of clients and generate leads without sacrificing the quality of the end product, and I believe I do that well.
